Questions to Ask Your Insurance Agent
- Does this HO-6 policy coordinate with the Leisure Village master policy?
- How much interior coverage do I need if I have remodeled the kitchen or baths?
- What happens if the master policy has a deductible and the loss starts in my home?
- Do I need separate coverage for water damage, earthquake, or flood?
- Am I covered for loss of use if I can’t live in the home during repairs?
When You Are Buying
Start on insurance early in escrow, not the week you close. Get a quote on the specific home, and tell your agent about any additions or remodels. If your lender or insurance agent needs proof of the master policy, ask the Association Office at (805) 484-2861, option 2, or office@leisurevillage.org. The Association also has an Insurance Committee for residents with questions.
Fire and Flood
Leisure Village has a 2026 Firewise certificate on the Association’s site. Ask your insurance agent whether it affects your quote. To look up the flood map for a specific address, use the FEMA Flood Map Service Center.
Insurance and Repairs Are Different Things
Who insures something and who maintains it are separate questions. For maintenance, read who fixes what in Leisure Village and check the Association’s Responsibility Matrix.
